If the update of Feb. 5, 2015, 8:10 p.m. at the top of http://www.propublica.org/article/the-worlds-email-encryption-software-relies-on-one-guy-who-is-going-broke is correct, then can we say that the system that finances the production of free software (or even stuff like BSD) is operating properly?

I mean, if you say so, I'm prepared to agree with you, but it does seem awfully precarious, doesn't it?
